Deja vu is a great French phrase that means ‘already seen'.It describes the feeling that you have been somewhere before or in a certain situation before, yet you know you haven’t. Have you had a déjà vu experience? It can be a rather disquieting phenomenon of having a strong sensation that an event or experience that one is currently experiencing has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not. You have a sense of what will happen, or what will be said by someone, even in an innocuous conversation. It is a very strange feeling. Oh, there have been many studies by ‘experts’ who have tried to explain such a thing, but it remains unexplained, the truth lost in a thick fog that does not allow us to see or understand.

Deja Vu
Many people have had that feeling at one time or another…’already seen’, while others say they have not. Kind of chilling isn’t it? I just had a recent experience with this as I went to a club for the very first time. Yet, I could swear I’d been in that building before. Of course I knew I hadn’t been, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had. I sat in the club knowing I was experiencing deja vu. I knew that I had ‘already seen’...but how? What causes deja vu to occur? There are a variety of explanations out there, ranging from theories about mini-seizures to split second delays in the brain processing information which they say can give a deja vu experience. Those are all very medical and professional sounding, but they don’t ring true to me. They sound like lame reasons to explain the unexplainable. However there is perhaps a more ‘paranormal’ definition, one that the medical world would dismiss. How about when one might be in a kind of dream state and in this state, you experience premonitions, that is feelings of things that are going to happen .We have all had dreams during the night and when we wake up in the morning, we just can’t remember what they were about. Maybe they were actually premonitions that one day out of the blue happen, and we just know that we’ve experienced it before; but we can’t put our finger on it, because we were in a deep state when we first were in that situation. That certainly sounds more plausible to me than any so-called scientific rational.
