ocean splashing and crashing
cool, windy day
bench feels
harder than usual
sun sets in silence
no witnesses
I wasn’t watching
looking at weeds
full of empty sidewalk
moon quietly appears in sky
hey stars, stop staring at me
the waves seem tired
the tides indifferent
bars almost empty
except for neon lights
drunken fights
and shadows, always shadows
teens walking the streets
going nowhere now or later
wind freshens
hood up
going down lonely avenue
cross street
hopeless boulevard
