time to get up
go look out the window
when’s mom coming home
where’s dad with my breakfast
a hearty meal- beef chunks and kibble
good but needs salt
look out the window again
she’s not coming for a while I guess
lay down by the door for a bit
this floor could use a sweeping
I’m dog tired from sleeping
might as well get comfortable
up on the human bed not made, nice and soft
lay my head on the pillow if the human isn’t around
take an afternoon nap - stretch out
wake up later, now I think I want to go outside
let me get dad’s attention
I’ll just stare at him
getting cloudy while I sniff around
did my business- want to come back in
scratch at the door, hurry up... I heard thunder
back inside, where’s my treat
give me something good to eat
dad has it crunch crunch thank you
wag my tail lick his hand
lay on my bed in the den for a while
thunder increases - hide under the desk
once it’s over get up and look out the window once more
what’s that noise?
a protective bark

go back to the humans bed
fall asleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
startled, I hear the front door opening
I hear the little chimes
jump off the bed and wag my tail - a happy bark
mom’s home
must be dinner time
