When a river empties into an ocean, all
its characteristics such as its speed, current and shape, are destroyed…yet not
one drop of its substance, the water, is lost...similarly, when a person
discovers the wisdom of the Dao and practices it whole heartedly, all their
negative attributes are washed away like the footprints on a beach at high
tide.
