An occultist is one who
studies the occult obviously or perhaps not so obviously…the word occultist has
a Latin meaning, one that means "clandestine, hidden, secret") or is
"knowledge of the hidden." In everyday English, occult refers to a
knowledge of the paranormal…the opposite would be a "knowledge of the
measurable,"…that usually refers to as basic science and something that is
studied by ‘regular’ scientists…some people confuse the word occultist as
meaning the member of a group that practices the occult…but it really is the
study of a deeper spiritual reality that extends beyond what is called pure
reason in the scientific community and the physical sciences…occultism can be
the study of occult practices…things such as alchemy, ESP, magic, astrology,
spiritualism, and a host of other things.
