Musica universalis
(which literally means universal music), is also called Music of the Spheres or
Harmony of the Spheres and it is an ancient philosophical concept that regards
movements of celestial bodies like the Sun, the Moon, and the planets as a form
of musica or music, a hum of sorts as they travel through space. Of course this kind of "music" as it is called,
is not usually thought to be actually audible, but instead it is thought of as
a harmonic, religious or mathematical concept…the Music of the Spheres
incorporates the metaphysical principle that certain mathematical relationships
express qualities or "tones" of energy which then manifest themselves
in numbers, visual angles, shapes and sounds that are all connected within
proportional pattern… it has been said that the Sun, the Moon and indeed each
and every planet all emit their own unique hum that is based on their orbital
revolution…and that the very quality of life on Earth reflects the tenor of
these celestial sounds which are physically imperceptible to the human ear.
