It has been said that
the astral body is a spiritual counterpart to the physical human body and that
this body is said to exist on a different plane…the philosopher Plato was one
of the first, if not the first, who pondered about the concept of an astral
plane…one that contains the planetary heavens, and it is in this astral plane
that the astral body is said to dwell...The astral body is normally associated
with such things as emotions and imagination…it is thought that through sleep,
death, or through drugs or any other loss of consciousness…the astral body is
said to separate itself from the physical body…the astral body is also associated
with contemplations about an afterlife…as it is the vehicle for carrying the
soul from the physical body into what we might call, the higher realms…it has
also said that the astral body is the body through which humans experience visions
and dreams…and out-of-body experiences and astral projection…there are those
that say that it can be seen as an aura-like appearance…one of swirling and changing
colors around the body itself.
