One of the ways of following the Dao is by following the course of Wu
Wei. This can roughly be translated as unforced action or a kind of natural
non-intervention. The Tao Te Ching itself says; when nothing is done, nothing
is left undone. Wu Wei is lived out by living by or going along with the true
nature of the world and letting things take their natural course. The man who
swims with the flow has an easy way. The man who swims upstream soon tires.
This isn’t to say that we just go along willy-nilly with everything. It means
that often times we struggle needlessly when there is no need.
