In sailing, the term ‘back
and fill’ means to use the advantage of the tide being with you when the wind
is not. It’s a way of getting things done; an alternate plan. Don’t be a one
trick pony. Always have a plan B or even a plan C. One dimensional people are
seen as just that, one dimensional and they have no way of coping with the
things that seek to knock them off kilter. Adapt to your surroundings and use
them to get done what you want to get done.
