It is true that we
probably regret those things that we didn’t act upon. We look back and are
troubled by the lost opportunities; the things that slipped away because for
some reason, we didn’t act when we had the chance; didn’t make the effort; or
were afraid of failure…It is also true that some of the best things we ever did
were things that we never actually did. Things that passed by and tempted us;
that tried to lure us into jumping into that pool that we may have regretted
getting into and may have struggled to get out of. We may have even drowned. Sometimes
it is best that we didn’t act on our intentions; that we never sent those
letters that we were so determined to write but were merely left on the desk or
in a dusty drawer, or like forgotten shopping lists, were simply mislaid.
