The mind’s true
liberation comes from understanding. Meditation can help you achieve this
understanding. Meditation helps you control life instead of life controlling
you. It is what calms the disturbances that crop up during everyday life. It
doesn’t have to be complicated, in fact the simpler the better. All the
trappings of formal meditation are just that, trappings. The only important
thing is that you can calm the mind. No official poses, methods, or education
are required. Just go with it, whatever works for you. I used to think you had
to do it this way or that to do it ‘right’. The only ‘right’ is the way that
helps you achieve tranquility.
