If you want
friends, you must also be a friend to them through good and bad. General
Ulysses S. Grant said that “the friend in my adversity I shall always cherish
most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours
than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.”
Fair weather friends are easy to find, but like the weather they can change
quickly. People can be quite fickle which reminds me of the saying “The more people
I meet, the more I like my dog.”
