What is sacred? To the sage, all is sacred. A monastery is no more
sacred than a valley. A ritual is no more important than seeing what is there
and sometimes what is not. There is truly nothing sacred except for the things
that we see as so. To me, all of nature is sacred, or as a wise man once said;
“Nature is my church.” All the formalities are nothing more than a wrapper on
the box that contains the truth; kind of like when you have a Christmas present
under the tree. You just don’t know what is under that wrapping. You wait and
wait for the day to come when you can open it. Sometimes you are disappointed
even though the package may be pretty.
