Flying over New Mexico, the landscape is far different from what I
am accustomed to seeing. It looks like some desolate asteroid, something you
might see on The Twilight Zone when they are in space somewhere. It fascinates
me, endless mounds of rock or something or another, I can’t tell from 30,000
feet up or so. But it is desolate, no doubt about that. I see the occasional
road or building but not much else in the way of civilization. I think about
how different life is here from where I live. Different, yet so much in common.
