If you want to blame
somebody or something for your troubles, you can blame it on the fault of the
fates. The fates can be cruel, always taking away from us what is almost in our
reach, or taking it out of hands altogether. These fates that rule the night
keep us from our intended path, change the course of our journey, and leave us
desolate by the side of the road. Sometimes no matter how hard we try, the
fates are there to defeat us, to mock us, to keep us in our intended place.
