There is so much anger
in the world, perhaps because we are so angry at ourselves. We are not
beautiful enough or rich enough, or popular enough. Our society glorifies the
rich, famous, and the beautiful. Maybe we spend too much time holding ourselves
up to these ideals; ideals that do not hold water. There are a lot of legitimate
things that go on in the world to make us mad, but we often hold on to these
too long. Sometimes we focus on what is wrong so much, we don’t see what is
right. Sometimes we don’t even realize we are mad, it just becomes a second
identity that takes over and we don’t even realize it. It is like an automatic
pilot device that begins running things. It often takes something extraordinary
to reengage us. It would be wise not to wait for the extraordinary, but find
joy in the ordinary.
