We like to believe in
the justice of the poets; i.e. good will come to those who do good, and bad
will come to all those who do bad through the kindness of the fates. Of course this does
not happen 100% of the time. Perhaps it happens just enough so that we are not
tempted to turn to the ‘darkside’, and instead remain true to the better angels
of our nature. But whether we receive goodness or not, it is important to try
to do good anyway.
