One of the greatest
fears we can have is to be alone. We can be alone by ourselves or alone in a
city of millions. On the contrary, one of the greatest joys we can have is to
be alone. The truth is we are always alone. Orson Welles once said that we
are born alone, we live alone and we die
alone; and it is only through our love and friendship can we create the
illusion for the moment that we're not alone. All of life is a big illusion;
one after another. It is far easier to live on illusion than it is to face
reality. So we fool ourselves; participate in the charade that life is, and
then the game ends and we go into the next world alone.
