Today our tour takes us to the fog-shrouded highlands of Scotland. Everyone knows about the famous moors that surely you’ve seen in an old Sherlock Holmes movie. I used to love watching those movies on a lazy weekend afternoon, and I still occasionally watch one. These highlands can be a place of great danger to travel through, especially at night, where one false step can lead to death, or an encounter with a dangerous person who is evading the law by hiding there. The fog can be thick and a great hindrance to one who attempts to cross, perhaps only by the light of a full moon, which can quickly be covered up by menacing clouds and resulting in the traveler fumbling his way through the darkness, hearing sounds of…who knows what?
