What did happen
in 1947 to the SS Ourang Medan or “Man from Medan” in Malaysia is perhaps one
of the most fascinating and mind-boggling mysteries that ever existed in
seafaring history and it looks like Malaysia is giving the air travel title a
run now too. The story begins with an SOS message that mentioned the captain,
along with the rest of the crew, were dead. It also appears that even the
telegrapher died during the transmission of the message. A ship called the
Silver Star received the distress call and went to inspect the ship. They
confirmed the deaths of all those aboard. But why, what happened? There have
been all kinds of speculations including ghosts, some type of hazardous
chemicals, and more bizarre circumstances have been raised, but there is still
no conclusion as to what actually happened.
