Hemingway once said
that the only sports are mountaineering, auto racing, and bullfighting; the
rest were merely games. The only fights I ever got into were well, ones I
couldn’t get out of. I’ll leave mountaineering to the experts, the sherpas, and
the rich who buy their way up the great mountains. My auto racing experience
doesn’t go beyond the local go-cart track. I don’t like to fight but I’ll do
what I have to do. The Dao does what it has to do. We might not like it, but
it’s what has to happen. Peace should always be the first option, but the wise
man always leaves all options on the table. Sometimes, you’ve got to be a warrior.
If you’re cornered, you have got to come out swinging. Not everybody can be a
Gandhi.
