When we are
young, we may feel we are ten feet tall and bulletproof as the cliché goes. We
believe that things are made of marble, stone, and iron. Everything appears to
be solid and firm and can be counted upon to always be there. As we age, we
realize that this is certainly not the case. The passage of time takes its
toll. We see change everywhere. Our bodies begin to break down. It is
inevitable. If we live long enough, we see things come into style, go out of
style, and then come back into style. It is the great ebb and flow. One day we
look into the mirror and are shocked to some old person staring back at us.
