Moderation

It has been said by the sages to practice moderation in everything, including moderation. A candle that remains unlit provides no light for which to see in. A candle burning on both ends provides good light but will quickly burn down and extinguish itself. What to do, then? Follow the lead of the Dao and practice balance. Veering too much in one direction will not lead to a satisfactory result.
