The detached sage
seeks a peaceful accord with the detached Tao. The sage has no dog in the
fight, no chips in the middle of the table, no inclinations or convictions of
any sort except the desire to be one with the Dao. It is by maintaining this
mind that he wins the fight without fighting and the pot without betting. He
becomes the biggest winner without even entering the fray. He plays well by not
playing.
