There can be some
comfort that is taken in performing ceremonies and customs. We may feel as
though we deeply ingrained with whatever we are honoring. However, it does not
take the place of real understanding. Such things ring hollow if there is no
substance to them. It is all style and style does not fill the stomach. “It is
all shell and no peanuts” to quote an anonymous elephant.
