Peace
can only come when reason rules. If we are unreasonable about anything
including demanding or expecting peace, we are defeating ourselves. Remember
that the search for peace begins and ends within the mind. It is reasonable to
presume that others will try to disturb our peace, or that things will happen
that will challenge our peace. If we realize this, we can better remain in
peace even in the most turbulent of waters. As Confucius once said, “It is
better to live in peace than in bitterness and strife.”
