In a
society that is dominated by least common denominators, the one who follows the
Dao seeks a higher level, a different way. Not with any desire to become an
exalted being high on a mountaintop in the Himalayas, but to be pure as best he
can be; free as freedom will permit; and as high as his spirit can soar. Do not
let yourself be dragged down into the mud. Stand tall and go about your own
way. You can lay in the gutter and look at the stars, but you are still in the
gutter. Raise yourself up and do not give in. Seek out the best in the world
and in yourself.
