Joseph
Stalin once said that one man’s death was a tragedy but a million deaths were a
statistic. Stalin used purges to get rid of what he considered undesirables or
troublemakers. Millions of people went to their deaths in camps or in
executions. However, not all purges are bad. We can use a purge to get rid of
our negative emotions and behaviors. We often loathe yet tolerate what we find
displeasing in others and ourselves. It is easier to complain then to make
changes. We need to send away these negatives. If we only look to the Dao, we
can find ways to create stability and peace.
