It is written in the Tao Te Ching that all can see beauty as beauty only because there is ugliness. All can know good as good only because there exists evil. Therefore having something and not having something are linked together. The difficult and the easy complement each other. There is giving and taking; the high and the low complement each other. Therefore, we know too that life and death are linked together. All that lives must someday die. All that renews someday decays. All that decays will someday renew.
