What is happening now is what has happened before many times, and often what is going to happen again sometime or another. That is the way of things. What is up now will soon be down. What is in will be out and then back in once more. What is in decay will be renewed and the renewed will someday decay. That is the natural way of Tao. As an old professor of mine once said, “History does not repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” The song remains the same, only the verses change. Just when you think something is dead and buried, it returns once more, like a restless ghost that haunts a castle.
