In one lifetime, we may know many pleasures. Then it is true of course that we will also know sadness. We cannot have one without the other. It is also true that in one lifetime, we live many lives, often vastly different from one another. Many of us reinvent ourselves from time to time, or at least try to, in an effort to remain fresh. However, under all these reinventions we are still the same person we were. What changes on the outside only covers what is on the inside. The inside can change by becoming one with Tao and finding harmony. That is the greatest change we can hope for.
