Cubism
Cubism was a style of painting and sculpture developed during the early 20th century, characterized chiefly by an emphasis on formal structure, the reduction of natural forms to their geometrical equivalents, and the organization of the planes of a represented object independently of representational requirements. Pablo Picasso is the most well-known artist of this style. Often in cubist paintings, we see many forms of a cube.
In life, people often want to put others in boxes, or cubes if you will, by using stereotypes, trying to label them, or otherwise sorting and classifying them. The Taoist cannot be put into a cube, cannot be lumped into a category, nor accurately labeled. Like the rising river that refuses to be contained by its banks, those one with Tao break through borders, and refuse to play along with the mind games of others.
