Koan Study: Rock, Scissors, Master

Two students were sitting behind the zendo playing rock, paper, scissors, when Master Li walked up. “Master, does rock beat scissors or does scissors beat rock?” they asked. The Master said nothing as he picked up a large stick and raised it over his head as if to strike. "Master beats lazy students!" he roared. The two students scurried into the zendo and began meditating.
